Biographical information/Professional background
Trained at the Ecole du Louvre and evening classes of Fine Arts in Nantes, Isabeau d’Abzac bends, twists, makes bend iron, glued and sculpts …. and gives life to graceful ladies of paper with long slender legs; illuminated from the inside, they appear to dance.
Penned by Chantal Lyard, Isabeau says, “They do not dance, they walk. If they progress in beauty, it is because they believe that their duty is to always exceed. ” The artist was inspired by women endurance observed in distant lands, women struggling to rise above the material world. “A dream of weightlessness, where all ugliness disappears … These women are great to protect the world and remove the pain for days. ”
Animated by the same light and made from mixed media, wire, resin, tissue paper, plaster … they evolve since 2000 over their creative exhibitions in France and abroad.
In 2010, the artist made the crib of Notre Dame de Paris and Saint André of Europe (Paris) in 2014. Her sculptures are in private collections in Paris, Mexico City, Geneva, Bilbao and Bologna.
The French Arts Factory presents the sculptures of the artist on the occasion of the exhibition “Poetic inspiration” in Juin 2015.
