Biographical information/Professional background
Marie-France Lesné was born in Angoulème and grew up in Paris. She lives and works in Clans a small village located in the mountains of the Nice countryside.
She follows courses at the Graduate school of architecture of Paris-Malaquais where is born an imperious need for insubordination, her creative strength is underway …
Then she studies art in Paris and Aix-en-Provence universities and becomes bachelor of art. She changes her way, deciding to live her passion for the nature in the valley of Jabron. This slice of life, convenient to meetings, makes her discover the ceramist Colette Charrier. The work of the Terracotta becomes an obvious fact. She returns then in Paris to learn with Augusto Tozzala.
It is decided, Marie France, the rebellious, will live fully her passion of the clay. From this work without concession spring uncluttered, distinguished, right sculptures. Her aim is to create a contrast between dashes and gaps. A work always in light imbalance to define the movement, a form where the line includes the piece in rotation: “the cavity is for me the opportunity, allying the curve and the angle, to trace base lines”.
Marie-France exposes since 1998 in numerous galleries and festivals in France. In 2014, some sculptures were the object of bids during a sale at Cornette de Saint-Cyr ‘s sales in Brussels.
The French Arts Factory presents the artworks of the artist on the occasion of the exhibition ” Strength and Voluptuousness” in January 2017.
