Biographical information/Professional background
Nathalie Rochard was born in 1964 in Meudon. Sensitized very young to the plastic arts, she followed the MARTENOT courses, then the workshops of the city of Paris where she practiced various disciplines: painting, engraving, living model and modelling. She returned to the SORNAS school where she obtained her diploma as a draughtswoman in applied arts in 1983. The faces, the intertwined profiles surrounded by a relief are the strong themes of her works that we discover during his first exhibitions.
In 2004, Nathalie Rochard discovered “the Louis Comfort Tiffany technique”. Clear, flat and transparent, glass inspires her… she will continue to create faces, bodies and totems with poetry in this material that she chooses to recycle to give it a new life.
Curious to discover other means of expression, in 2013 she opted for the crochet and the softness of the yarn. According to her imagination, she builds structures or slender, half-human, half-vegetative, half-animal characters that rise like trees to celebrate the wonders of nature..
The purpose of her work is undoubtedly to instill an awareness of the fragility of the nature around us.The artist has been exhibiting her work in galleries and museums for many years.
The French Arts Factory presents the artworks of the artist on the occasion of the exhibition ” Fantasmagorie” in May 2019.
