Biographical information/Professional background
Pauline Couble, born in Lyon in 1979, studied Applied Arts in Paris from 1997 to 2002, initially focusing on scenography and the architectural environment in a space design course. Then she discovered sculpture and synthetic materials, with a strong interest in resins and molding techniques. She became interested in design by collaborating with decorators in the creation of exceptional lighting fixtures, exploring the vast possibilities that resin offers in terms of shape, color and transparency.
At the same time she is very attracted by the living world and organic matter, and begins to create sculptures with undulating shapes where the transparent mass plays with light and colors. She is always looking for a singular aesthetic, at the limit of the strange, where the material is charged with emotions and poetry. A confusion is created between the different materials which are intimately linked, between the mineral and the animal, the natural and the synthetic, the living and the inert.
In May 2007, Pauline Couble is the winner of the Young Creators competition organized by “Les Ateliers d’Art de France”. For more than 15 years, she has been exhibiting her work in France and abroad (Belgium, Switzerland and the Netherlands). The gallery French Arts Factory accompanies in a perm way the young artist and presents regularly her new works.
